Detailed Itinerary
Day 1:Haridwar to Chopta
Drive from Haridwar to Chopta (8,790 ft) via Devprayag and Rudraprayag. Approximately 8-9 hours journey through scenic mountain roads. Overnight in camps/guesthouse.
Day 2:Chopta to Tungnath to Chandrashila Summit
Early morning trek to Tungnath Temple (3.5 km, 3-4 hours). After darshan, continue to Chandrashila summit (1.5 km steep climb, 1.5-2 hours). Enjoy panoramic views and return to Chopta. Total trek: 6-7 hours.
Day 3:Explore Deoria Tal (Optional)
Optional trek to the beautiful Deoria Tal lake or rest day at Chopta. Explore the meadows and forests. Overnight at Chopta.
Day 4:Chopta to Haridwar
Drive back to Haridwar/Rishikesh. Arrive by evening with beautiful memories.

Can children do this trek?
Yes! The trek is suitable for children above 10 years with reasonable fitness. The well-maintained trail makes it family-friendly.
Is the Tungnath temple open in winter?
The temple closes around Diwali and reopens in May. However, you can still visit the temple area and continue to Chandrashila summit during winter.
How difficult is the final climb to Chandrashila?
The final 1.5 km from Tungnath to Chandrashila is steep but short. Take it slow with regular breaks, and it's very doable.
